Yoga Nidra

Regenerate your body with

Yoga Nidra…

Deepen your relaxation.......

Yoga Nidra is not a physical practice. It is a deep relaxation guided meditation, which is blissfully nourishing and restorative for the mind and body. Yoga nidra or ‘yogic sleep’ is a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping, similar to the ‘going-to-sleep’ stage.

The intention is not necessarily to induce sleep but instead to prepare the body for sleep and/or restorative relaxation. In doing this the body’s internal systems and central nervous system are able to down-regulate, thus enabling the mind and body to recover from the stresses of our daily lives. This practice provides an opportunity to create space for stillness.

In the classes at Wickham Wellness Studio you will lay down and we’ll help you get comfortable. You will then be guided through mediation to reach deep relaxation.

Mary-Ann Robinson

Meditation and Reiki Practitioner at Tranquil Soul Wellbeing

My meditation journey began about 7-8years ago when I was referred to Mindfulness Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for stress and anxiety management.

From there, I started meditation using an app, which really helped to ‘soften’ my body and calm my mind. With practise and patience, my sleep improved and I was more alert, focused, refreshed and better able to cope with the day ahead. Meditation also enabled me to identify anxiety triggers, which subsequently provided a more effective response to these triggers.

My curiosity to develop my meditation experience was borne and I did my Meditation Teacher Training at the British School of Meditation. This exposed me to a variety of modern and traditional techniques, of which Yoga Nidra has become part of my self care practice. It is truly nourishing and my favourite technique to teach. I am passionate to share the wonderful benefits it can give to everyone.

Alongside meditation, I am a Reiki Therapy Practitioner and currently completing my training to do Hot Stones and Indian Head Massage.

My other interests are Rugby, getting out and about in nature, and making artisan jewellery using traditional techniques such as chainmaille and kumihimo.
